Here is another very interesting article which I found from the Food

It is a New York times article by, Sandra Blakeslee, which describes
many of the current research projects trying to find whether the
Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathys TSEs can be made to cross
species barriers. The results are indeed intriguing.
