Laurie, do not feel afraid to feed hayledge for the winter. I use an upright
silo and feed about 115 tons a year. As long as it is put up corectly it is
far better than hay. You do have to watch for bad spots as it will cause
Listeriosis which will make them sick or could kill them. That said we have over the
years had better results with hayledge over hay and the ewes come out in
better shape in the spring.
