The research that I did on Google did show that they did also impact
beetles but not earthworms. We found that to be of benefit because we
have problems with Japanese beetles and the grubs consume large amounts
of manure. We used IGR's last year and we very happy with the results.
But one thing to think about is your neighbors. There are no cows on
the adjoining properties so there aren't many horn flies coming across
the fence.

Subject: [Graze-l] IGR (insect growth regulators)
Do IGR's have any negative influence on beneficial insects that work
on dung pats (such as dung beetles, etc), or on earth worms? They are
supposed to help control horn flies, but am wondering if there may be
negative side effects that I don't want in a grazing system.
