Hi folks!
Thanks for all your replies to my corn grazing questions. It seems
from your answers that grazing year old corn is not such a good idea. So
now my question is when does corn growing in the field become a good
source of energy? It would be nice if I could graze a high energy crop,
along with a high protein crop, all season long. Of course, grazing corn
when it is only one or two feet tall in June or July would be silly
because you don't get any regrowth and I would suspect that corn at that
stage is not very high in energy yet. So when should cattle start
grazing this year's corn crop? Is there any other grazable crop that is
high in energy all season long?
