In spring, you should have more than enough pasture growth. The point of
grazing corn is to fill the gap when late summer pastures are most likely
not getting enough rain. Corn is a very drought tolerant plant.
Corn silage in amounts adjusted to what's available (or isn't) in pasture
regrowth, compliments pasture intake (high protein, low fiber) with energy
and fiber.
Brown Mid-Rib Sorghum Sudan also is a great option to fill in the late
summer drought gap. Also has a very good sugar content. Cows love it and
there is very little wasted.
