Hi,
Using sharemilking as the basis for transfer of farm ownership to the next
generation is workable. It's logical and makes sense to me.
But it certainly isn't an essential. Lots of different methods will also
work. Successful inter-generational farm transfers have occurred tens of
thousands of times in this country.
The problem doesn't lie in the HowTo of the inter-generational transfer.
The problem is simple. The milk price is too low for anything to work
reliably.
There are workarounds for this low price problem. But the passion for dairy
farming must burn very bright.
