Good Afternoon List Friends.
I just got the email notice from Alberta Agriculture: "Ropin' the Web -
What's New Postings June 7 - July 2, 2004"
Email Address: webeditor@agric.gov.ab.ca <webeditor@agric.gov.ab.ca>
About once a month they send a list of all the new web pages posted
since the last notice. Here are some that might be interesting to "CUD
List" people.
1. Early Weaning Stretches Forage Supply and Reduces Winter Feed Needs
for Beef
Cattlehttp://www1.agric.gov.ab.ca/$department/deptdocs.nsf/all
/for8669
and
2. Fall Body Condition Management in Beef Cattle
http://www1.agric.gov.ab.ca/$department/deptdocs.nsf/all
/for8670
3. What Will Pasture Rent for This Summer?
http://www1.agric.gov.ab.ca/$department/deptdocs.nsf/all
/faq8326
This one suggests that Alberta pasture rents might run at "a
typical $25 to $35 per animal unit month range." They suggest
that anything higher might make dry-lotting cows at $1.20 per day might
be an economic alternative.
Each of the pages has links to other fact sheets which cover beef
related topics.
