Dear Richard,

Many soils in Japan are similar to ours. They have volcanic and
peats, but seldom use enough lime, partly because it is sold in bags
at many times the price of ours in bulk.

I have been there five times for Gallagher in the early 80s.

Do you have or want an agent there?

Their main grasses are cocksfoot and Italian ryegrasses. Clovers are
not used enough. Low pH's don't help and allowing the grasses to get
too long make it worse for clovers.

Apart from a few farmers I got grazing, their grazing management is
non-existent.

They have followed the USA.
