The man I took to NZ is starting a goat farm in Brazil. He has just quit
his work in Japan, and is permanently moving to Brazil next week. Climate
in Brazil is not that different from NZ, and if we are talking of climate in
Japan, Japan is a big place. I come from Hokkaido where it snows a lot in
winter, my client was from the main island Honshu where it hardly ever
snows. Everyone is different, so might be a good idea not to make
assumptions about people just based on the country they live in.
: )
(I am a Russian-born New Zealander living in Japan for over 8 years now, and
many people don't actually believe it, but it is not my problem!)
Another thing about studying goats or anything else agri related in NZ is
not all grazing is about climate and soil types. Grazing is a business as I
see it, and many skills are needed to make it succeed. The Agricultural
Fieldays held in Hamilton, NZ, every year is an amazing event to which I
always travel with my clients. You can get all sorts of ideas for thinking
outside the box and making your grazing biz succeed, meet all sorts of
interesting people who can help your grazing biz in the future, see the
latest products and inventions, network and more.
We went to the Fieldays for all four days, spending half of the day visiting
farms, cheese factories, etc, and half of the day at the Fieldays. Hamilton
is a great place that allows to make it all possible without having to
travel for miles.
Hope this makes it a bit more clear.
Have a nice day!
