>We've have groups that haven't come in off pasture yet,
One goal is to keep at least some animals on pastures the whole
winter or at least extend into the fall much longer. We aren't there
yet, I have yet to figure out a way to keep my rams in separated
breeding groups without double heavy duty wire panel fencing between
them. So that means for December and January at a minimum they will
be in the corrals being fed hay.
>I'm watching the livestock and the grass and when they start to turn down
>hay. Early on they still like the hay because the grass is so low in fiber,
>this provides a 2-3 week transition diet.
OK that helps. Still have to deal with how to accomplish feeding hay
on pasture but at least that gives me some ideas.
>We're also picking out south
>facing slopes
<G> Got this one done, our entire property is a south facing slope.
