An owl mistook my Jack Russell Terrier puppy for a bunny rabbit one night.
As he swooped down to grab her, she jumped up to meet him with a mouthful of
teeth and a bark. She didn't get him and he flew back around for another
look at the meanest rabbit he'd ever met, then flew off making loud squawking
complaining noises. The pup was small enough to have been owl dinner if
he'd connected, so I kept her pretty close to me at night after that! But I
think she convinced him we've got really tough rabbits here, and we didn't
see him again.
