As far as  I know we are free to run more than a cow per acre.
Manure management is very little, just from the milking facilities
and with big parlors that's not much per cow. My dream farm would
be 640 acres with 4 pivots milking 1000 cows with the dairy at the center.
>From the center to the farthest corner would be about 3/4 mile. That
is not to far to walk.
