Hello Dick and List Members

These test messages were necessary to enable me to check that all the
functions of the list were operating correctly after being offline for 60
days.

The length of time offline was due to my absence overseas for most of those
two months and was not due to neglect by WITT technical staff.

Over the past year there has been a major tightening of IT operational
procedures for institutions like WITT to protect their users from spam and
their systems from intruders. This has meant there have been continuing
updates and modifications applied to all the IT services at WITT.

Graze-l is a very insignificant part of the operations at WITT and relies on
the goodwill of the management and staff at WITT to fit our list alongside
all the other functions and services they are responsible for.

It is my hope that Graze-l list will continue as long as it provides
interest and benefit to its members and on the assumption that it can
continue to be suitably resourced.

The graze-l archive has also grown into a valuable record of the lists
information and I see this as a further reason for access to the list to be
maintained.

Graze-l is coming up to the end of its tenth year in operation.

Graze-l has provided members over those years with excellent and not so
excellent technical and practical answers and discussion to questions posed.
But even more importantly the list has put a human face - albeit in words -
to farmers' aspirations from many parts of the world.

Dick, thanks for you wish for graze-l to continue. I hope you are one of
many.

Graze-l needs to be used, if it is to be of benefit to its members.

Regards

Roy McCallum
Graze-l Manager
