Folks,
As has been my tradition, here is my Thanksgiving prayer for all my
graze-l friends to enjoy.
Distribute freely, just give me credit
Thanks
A Cowboy's Thanksgiving Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thanksgiving time is upon us,
And another year's near past
And in spite of all the trials
Each year's been better than the last.
'Cause any trouble that I've gone through
brought me closer to you,
When I put my faith in prayers and work
Together we got through.
And I thank you for the blessings of
A sunny summer day
And the grass that has stayed green through fall,
And time watching calves at play.
I thank you for my freedom, and soldiers in
distant lands,
And for friends and neighbors close to home
Who always lend a hand.
Who show up when I need 'em
And refuse any pay
To help fix a broke down tractor
Or help get up the hay.
And I thank you for the miracles
That others might not perceive
Like double rainbows in the morning
That help me to believe
In you, and in your blessings
That I don't thank you for enough.
And I thank you knowing you'll be with me
When ever things get rough.
I thank you I am living out
among the trees and grass
Not in a crowded city where concrete, lights,
And glass
Crowd out the stars of evening
And choke the morning sky
Where folks'll never hear a whip-or-will
Or a lonely coyote cry.
So, Lord, I'm sayin' thank you
for all the blessings that you give,
And most 'specially for
this cowboy's life I live
And I'm shore anticipatin'
what you have in store
And the good things you'll give me
As I love and trust you more.
Amen
Steve
