Hi Walter,
I know almost nothing about pigs and little enough about dairy cows, but
perhaps "udder caked up and she didn't give no milk"  means severe udder
edema? When we were raising up holfords, a couple of heifers suffered very
swollen udders which were very difficult to get milk out of for us or the
calves, partly due to pain and perhaps due to the pressure reducing milk
production?
