I had a cell phone in the city, worked ok. Moved here and didn't
think we'd get another one as the service wasn't great and why bother.
Then a new cell phone company moved in, bought out the older services
and improved them and coverage in our area is very good to great. So
now I have one out here that completely replaces our wired line, and
I love it. Hubby has one too, and we've used them to call and tell
each other where we are, used the note taking feature to take a few
notes for irrigation pipe pieces we needed to go buy and so on.
Because it replaces the wire line the cost is about the same but we
get 2 phones. When I am busy and can't be bothered I turn it off,
send everything to voicemail and am done with it. Voicemail hasn't
lost any messages, my ancient answering machine occasionally did. I
can call the vet from the pasture and he can talk me through doing
stuff I am unfamiliar with if I have to. I need to add a hands free
set for it that fits my ears better than the one I have but otherwise
I think it's a great tool. And it's such a pleasure not to be dealing
with our local phone company any more.
Now that I've seen the advantages I can't imagine going back to a wired line.
