You can't tell them that you are making money??? What's the problem???
I have made money every year since I started in 1988. I have only avoided paying
taxes 3 of those years. I still made money those years just didn't show on the tax return.
I started with a net worth $32,000. I know have 275 cows, 380 acres plus heifers and
equipment.
I still have debt. I expect to have that paid in 4-5 years at current repayment rate. I
became a true
grazer in 1997.
I'm not the hardest working dairyman by a long shot. I have made plenty of little mistakes
along the way. My pluses are quick learner, management ability, and a good understanding
of accounting. I think others could easily do better than I have with more effort.
I have had lots of visitors the last 5 years and I have glowingly recommended dairy
grazing
to anyone interested in trying it and have provided some financial numbers to demonstrate
the
potential.
