I don't think there is going to be much result approaching the problem from
this angle.
I understand your frustration completely.
I think you pretty well summed it up by (above) saying that: "When
production
increases, Farmers face a lower price/cwt, and a lower amount of money to
maintain their farms."
That's just the way it is.
It's mindless, there is no conspiracy against us. Due to the perishable
nature of our products, farmers and particularily dairy farmers are price
takers. We can't set the price.
Processors are in the position that they can set the price, but they do need
us and our milk, and therein is the only real factor in our favor. It's
harsh but it's reality. We need them more than they need us.
Probably the best thing to do is to look around for the proverbal 13th milk
check ..... a sideline business.
Or adapt some new technology they you can exploit for a few years before
everyone else aquires it.
