I've noticed that fields where I spread composted bedding pack material this
fall, there is zero thatch.  Other areas where I applied commercial
fertilizer, there is a thin layer of thatch.  There's a very definitive
line.  Ideas why there is there a difference, simply because of more OM in
the compost?
