    Not so sure I agree with this Dave, and I think you're contradicting 
    yourself anyway.  First you say that everything is enironmental and  =
    management, then
    say that your low cell count was genetic. 
    
    My cows are an amalgamation from wherever I could find them.  35 cows  =
    that
    probably came from at least 20-25 different sources.  Last year I had  =
    the
    lowest DHI cell count in the county with a 66,000 average for the year, =
    with  low
    monthly counts as low as 32,000.  This year my count is up a bit, due  =
    in part
    to the heifers becoming mature cows.  I would say that my  experience
    indicates that most of a low cell count is due to management rather  =
    than genetics. 
    Do genetics play a part?  Certainly, but I would say  that they play a
    relatively small part compared to management.
