Every male thinks he is a professional!!!! Its a shame we can't all
naturally breed our cows to the top international bulls though!
380 cows: Our 21 day submission rate (after the first 3 weeks of AI) is 93%
(with no hormone intervention e.g. CIDRs or PG) and our conception rate at
the end of AI (6 weeks total) is 79%. We have approx 5% empties each year.
Pretty good for AI I would think, certainly wouldnt make me turn to natural
mating.
Our other herd natural mates completely as we get enough replacements from
our main herd due to 6 weeks of AB. We have around 2-3% empty at the end of
the year which we are so happy with.
Michelle.
