I don't post to this group often, though I do read it regularly.
In my other groups there has been a discussion about "NAIS" or a plan
to
have a National Animal Identification System. The idea is that animals =
can
be tracked so that if one gets sick the disease can be stopped (read =
stop
the spread of Mad Cow disease) by seeing where the animal has been, who =
it
has been in contact with and so on.
So far, I haven't seen a group that likes the idea.
Now I've gotten to wondering what systems are other countries using or
doing? What are the regulations about transport, sale, etc of livestock
where you live?
