I was just visiting with a friend who recently moved back to the U.S.
He spent the last year or so working on a ranch in South America (I
believe it was in Argentina, or maybe Brazil -- you can tell I'm not
much of a world traveler). He said that they are doing the animal
identification system thing in South America and it is really no big
deal. I guess the animals have ear tags that can be scanned by scanners
attached to the head gate, and the producers seem to be fine with it.
I guess I probably have a similar sentiment as many from the states, an
inherent distrust of the government possibly knowing more than they
really should know.
