3. Let the rfid tags replace the the @$30 neck responders.
We chose #3.
We have a sort gate, and have gotten the rfid's to sort as good as =
the responders. It is a touchy system. The portal id has to close to =
the ears so we put two 1 way gates in. The left gate has a loop of the =
antenna on its outer edge and the right gate is just to insure the ear =
is close to the other gate. It is touchy because the wire connections =
work loose because the antenna is constantly moving on the one way gate.
The parlor doesn't work as well, but we didn't put the double one =
way gates in yet.
We contacted Alflex and am investigating installing one of there =
panel readers. I'm not sure it will communicate with our software. =
Westfalia Surge is looking at developing an antenna but have nothing now =
and claim it will not work as well as their transponders. Aflex can't =
do much to help because of patent infringement or something like that as =
far as tampering with Westfalia stuff.
I believe we can get the system to work 95% as well as the neck =
transponders or maybe better with our homemade stuff but you will have =
antenna's with moving parts that will fail eventually.
I don't think all Westfalia Surge portals react like ours but it =
worth checking out.
