In my lawn, green is good.
However, some folk have higher levels of acceptance than I.
I've not heard of using higher N fert. for quack but the Y & G
brief on perennial grass weeds suggests that high management
will cause the grass to die out. That might be what the turf folk
are doing. IIRC, the brief says regular mowing will kill it off
over a few years. I suspect higher levels of N will cause it to
grow more and thus make a better mower target.
I knwo this doesn't answer your question, but you might look at
the Y & G brief.
