My neighbor crushes all her egg shells into an unrinsed milk bottle adds
all the
water from the packages of meat and pours it around her rose bushes all
year long. It is the only "fertlizer" she uses and she swears it is the
reason for her success.
I have heard that nicotene tea made from steeping half a pouch of tobacco
leaves is a good systemic miticide, I tried it once and found our cat
happily lapping up the water on the soil..... It had never lapped up plant
water before and fortunately I stopped it before our cat was poisoned.
I read in a gardening magazine that one should only till the soil after
dark on moonless nights so weed seeds don't sprout. I wonder how one sees
to drive.
Beer is a good slug bait. I use it a lot myself, the alcohol kills them
whereas trapping with water leaves a container full of live slugs.
Sea salt is the perfect additive to the garden containing all the
micronutrients in the right proportions. Adding salt to the garden seems
risky to me but I ran across the recommendation on an organic gardening
web site.
Good luck with your project, I am already looking forward to reading it.
