I've dried zinnias, yarrow, larkspur and rose buds in silica jel and
they've kept their shape and color beautifully. Hydrangeas, straw
flowers, yarrow, colored statice, golden yarrow, cockscomb, larkspur,
dusty miller and celosia can be dried by hanging upside down and they
will also keep their original color. Pansies can be dried by pressing
and will retain their original color. I've framed pansies behind glass
and they've kept their color for over ten years. The zinnias I dried in
new silica jel retained their color for over ten years also.....finally
threw them because they got dusty. It's a great hobby and gifts of
bouquets of dried flowers have pleased many of my family and friends.
