I just purchased a fabulous landscape design book that I want to highly
recommend. Perhaps some of you may already have it and some may not.
The title is HOME LANDSCAPING, MIDWEST REGION INCLUDING SOUTHERN CANADA.
The authors are Roger Holmes and Rita Buchanan. Of all the landscape
design books I have this one is specific to zones 3, 4, 5, and 6. They
say some plants may not tolerate zone 3 and will need to be substituted
but all others are hardy to the lowest temps in zone 4. The designs are
beautiful and very easy to read. You are given the noteworthy qualities
of each plant or structure and how they contribute to the design. There
is also a section on structure designs as well as installing ponds and
pathways. Well, enough ranting. Have a great day!
