There is a potato that was genetically engineered to contain Bt, so that
Colorado potato beetles will get sick and die from feeding on it. However,
it was only available on the homeowner market for one, possibly two
seasons.... and that must have been five or six years ago. It is no longer
available to home gardeners, though I believe large commercial growers may
be able to purchase it in big quantities.
Hi- Is there really a potato that resist the Colorado Potato Beetle? I
have read about these Bt potatoes and was wondering if they are for home
garden use and where do you find them? thanks kathy melling stearns
