From: Mary H. Meyer (meyer023_at_umn.edu)
Date: 01/03/05

Hi Master Gardeners,
  Happy New Year!
This winter we will be trying 2 new online classes for you to take as
advanced training as Master Gardeners. These will be posted on the link
for Advanced Classes at www.mg.umn.edu and announced in the State
Newlsetters.
The Ravaged Garden will start January 10 and end January 28, 2005.
This plant pathology class was developed by Janna Beckerman and will be
moderated by Dave MacDonald. April 4-29 will be Vera Krischik's Galls
and Borers.
The Ravaged Garden is a class about plant pathology, with sections
devoted to terminology and understanding the disease cycle.
To sign up and take the Ravaged Garden class you need to do the
following:
No later than January 10:
1. email ME, meyer023@umn.edu to subscribe your email address to the
mgadvanced course listserve. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR NAME, COUNTY, AND YEAR
OF MG TRAINING.
PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THE ENTIRE LIST, but send an email directly to me.
2. Work on the class as you will be instructed, via the mgadvanced
listserve, approximately2-4 hours per week for the three weeks: Jan
10-28, 2005.
3. This will count for 10 hours of advanced training for MG who complete
the work as outlined at the website.
Because this is a new project, we are able to offer it at NO CHARGE
today, but the April class will have a fee and more involvement for users.
Let me know if you have questions, best wishes,
Mary
