I have had chickens now for about a year and a half and am having great fun
with them. We are planning on reconstructing the chicken pen which is
completely enclosed, even on the top to keep out predators. The chicken pen
is inside the goat pasture which also contains our Great Pyrenees goat guard
dog. I can't free range the chickens because of bobcats, coyotes, skunks,
raccoons, opossums, and dogs in the area as well as our own Pyrenees which
is generally friendly, but not immune to chasing down a loose chicken. I
was wondering if it might be feasible to make some sort of rolling chicken
pen, where we could more or less roll or move their "pasture" to take
advantage of new grass, weeds, bugs, and worms. Has anyone done anything
like this before? I have 34 chickens, so it is a pretty good sized pen
right now, with a coop on stilts and a ramp for the birds. Jane
