Greetings to everyone who expressed interest in being part of the CAA
writers group!

There are a few items of business I want to attend to before we get to
the fun stuff.

1. writers@ca4a.org

This is the email address we will use to coordinate. In a moment, I will
subscribe all of you to this list. You will have to confirm you want to
be added to the list and when you do so, you can decide whether to
receive the messages in individual or digest form.

2. http://www.exploreveg.org/Members/jason

Pertinent information for the writers group will appear here. For
instance, news sources and suggestions for how to write letters and
op-eds will be linked. I will also archive links to any published
letters and op-eds.

3. What we're aiming to do

Our primary goal with this group is to generate published material on
animal issues, especially on factory farming. The work of our group will
be to share articles with each other that we can respond to in letters
to the editor and to share op-ed ideas. We will review each others' work
to enhance the impact of the articles and enhance their potential for
being published.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Individuals should not try to publish articles on behalf
of CAA without approval from at least a few fairly active volunteers.
CAA tries to operate on consensus as much as possible and as we try to
build our organization, it will be important to keep our message as
honest and accurate as possible. We can't run stories by all the group
members of course but a few should look at articles before CAA's name is
attached.

Thanks, everyone! Let's get discussing on the list!

Jason
