Writers,

There are several good opportunities today!

1. On Food: Whole-hog reaction shows our disconnect
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/food/267103_chou19.html

This piece is basically chastising meat eaters who don't want to know
where their meat comes from. This is a perfect opportunity for us to
weigh in and direct people to websites where they can learn about
factory farming.

2. Students join PETA?s KFC protest
http://www.advancetitan.com/story.asp?issue=11227&story=5033

This is a weekly student paper, and this story offers a great
opportunity to talk more about the 9 billion chickens killed on factory
farms each year, not just for KFC.

3. Egg plant loses bid to suppress animal activist's evidence
http://www.timesleader.com/mld/timesleader/14371924.htm

Esbenshade Farms will have to face the tapes Compassion Over Killing has
of this atrocious egg facility. This is a good opportunity to talk about
the problems with battery cage eggs in general. A letter was published
today by PETA, so there's probably a good chance of a sympathetic person
on the editorial board!

Send letters of less than 150 words to jlacoe@leader.net and make sure
to include your name, address, and phone number.

Jason
