Avian Flu continues to lead the possible global pandemic. Recently, in Indonesia the first human-to-human mutation was confirmed. Authorities indicate that this still does not represent proof of an impending global pandemic. All known avian flu viruses belong to the species of virus called Influenza A virus. As of 2006, "avian flu" is being commonly used to refer to infection from a particular subtype of Influenza A virus, H5N1.
